Substance Use Withdrawal Management

This course will discuss the withdrawal symptoms of alcohol, opioid, cannabis, and benzodiazepine use. It will also discuss some pharmacological treatment options for a variety of symptoms.

Aging & Dementia in Autism

This module talks about the bodily changes in aging, provides an overview of dementia, addresses their implications in people living with Autism and what we can do to make the aging experience easier for them.

Blood Pressure Measurement

This module touches on how to properly measure blood pressure and how to pick an appropriate blood pressure monitor.

Controlled Acts I - Complete Modules (Theory)

Controlled Acts Training is a requirement for unregulated healthcare workers who will be performing Controlled Acts on individuals. Controlled Acts include administering medication and using devices for the management of asthma/COPD, constipation, and diabetes. This training is designed to ensure safe medication practices in these disease states.

COVID-19 Vaccines

This COVID-19 Vaccine module provides a basic understanding of the different types of COVID-19 vaccines, how they work and why they're beneficial.

Medication Administration through Feeding Tubes

Many patients require medications through feeding tubes due to various reasons such as malabsorption or trouble swallowing due to weakness or paralysis. This feeding tubes course is intended for caregivers who care for individuals that require medication administration via feeding tubes. This is a theoretical based course in that it introduces the caregiver to tube feeding, types of feeding tubes, site care, flushing, and safe medication administration via feeding tubes. This module is intended to provide caregivers with introductory knowledge prior to feeding tube medication administration. Trained home staff or community health care professionals (ex. Community nurses) are required to provide the caregiver with in-home training and practical administration of medications through this route.

Medication Management I for Direct Support Professionals

Medication Administration I is the foundational course for agency Direct Support Professionals, Managers and Supervisors for safe medication administration to individuals in the community. Medication Administration I objectives are to; emphasize the importance of safe medication administration, review RHPA, thoroughly review best practice procedures, understand hospitalization processes, medication intake, discuss medication errors and review compliance.

Naloxone Administration (Theory)

Opioid medication management in the community comes with many challenges. This community based module is intended for all individuals who are currently on or support someone taking opioids. The objective of this course is to: understand opioid indication and overdose, harm reduction strategies, naloxone pharmacology, and responding to opioid overdose through First Aid and Naloxone Administration. After you have completed this module and successfully passed the quiz, please book your in-person training with a pharmacist.

Psychotropics Pharmacology

This clinical in-depth, prescriber-focused module discusses the most commonly used medications classes in the field of mental health. Topics covered include Antipsychotics, Antidepressants, Benzodiazepines, Anticholinergics and Opioids. This module gives caregivers and patients an insight in regards to basic pharmacology, indications for use, side effect profile and case-based examples of managing psychotropic medications.
